Cabelas Canada Flyer is a retail company founded in 1961 in Chappell, Nebraska, USA.
Cabela’s originally sells fishing, hunting and camping gear. The company also owns the “Trophy Properties LLC” (a real estate market), “Outdoor Adventures” (hunting and fishing trips) and the “Gun Library”, where new and used weapons can be sold and purchased. Cabela’s is one of the American companies doing the most direct marketing. The company became a public company (open nv) in 2004 and generated sales of $ 1.56 billion in that financial year, a growth of 50% since 2001. In 2007, Cabela’s had a total of 26 stores.
Cabela’s weekly flyer mail order catalogs are shipped to 41 states and 120 countries. In its first year as a public company, more than 120 million catalogs have already been sent.
Cabelas Canada Flyer shops look more like a place of interest than a shop. They are cave-like showrooms that house stuffed wild animals, large aquariums, mountains and archery ranges. The success of the business concept is well illustrated by the Kansas City store, which covers an area of 17,000 m² and was visited by more than four million customers within one year. The largest store is in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, with a floor space of 23,000 m².
Various video games have been released in collaboration with Cabela’s, including Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts and Cabela’s Alaskan Adventures. All games simulate real life hunting adventures.
